Default New townhomes in Brewerytown

Can anyone provide information on the new construction in Brewerytown? When is it scheduled to start? Who is the Builder? Any info would be greatly appreciated?

Thanks

Default Brewerytown

I believe it was supposed to be a developer called Westrum. Here's their site:

http://www.westrum.com/home.htm

But there's nothing on there about Brewerytown (there is a development called Packer Park in S. Phila.). I get the sense that this project has stalled, but hopefully it'll get going again. As I understood it, there was supposed to be a large project involving many units of housing, at least some, maybe all, market-rate. It was to go in on the site of a former Acme warehouse along N 30th St. just above Girard, across the train tracks from East Fairmount Park.

I'm certainly hoping it still happens, but haven't seen any signs of life yet.

I am not sure what is going on. However extensive test borings were done on the site about 3-4 months ago, and the City recently announced the award of tax credits for senior apartments at the site. SOme demolition was also done on 31st street.

Paker Park and Girard Estates are both nice neighborhoods down in that section of South Philly.

Looks like site work is picking up at this site- heavy equipment ripping out the old parking lot. There is still a mid-size industrial building to come down by the tracks. I wonder what the horses nearby think of all of this!
