Default Filming at Memorial Hall

I decided to skip my afternoon class today and take a drive up to Fairmount, since I've hardly spent any time there, and when I tried to go to Memorial Hall there were movie trailers and crew all over the place, and they had cranes hoisting up huge lights outside the front windows. Anyone have any idea what they were filming?

I would guess it is part of Annapolis, which is currently being filmed here in the city.

Most of the shooting is going on up at Girard College but it wouldn't surprise me to see that they were using Memorial Hall for some sort of shooting site.

Default Public Information

If they had to apply for poermits, wouldn't it be public information? I just checked out Greater Philadelphia Film Office and saw no information.

No permits needed. They simply notify the police, etc.

Actually, my source was one of the best - Michael Klein's Inklings column reporting that one of the featured actors, here for shooting, was dining at Striped Bass - as was Kelly Ripa.

Gossip makes you sooooooo well informed.

Actually, they give a briefcase full of unmarked bills to Johnny Doc in order to do business in the city and he gives the cops a little cut. That's the preferred protocol. ;-)

Kelly Ripa's originally from Collingswood. And Gywneth Paltrow's uncle lives in Rittenhouse Square (according to the interview with her mom, Blythe Danner, in the new Phillymag).

Sorry, I like celebrity gossip too, especially about vivacious blonde beauties like Kelly and Gywneth. And, heck, Blythe Danner was pretty hot back in the day.
