Hi all,
I've been trying to find the very latest news on the Route 15 Trolley and the new development at 31st and Girard. I guess the trolley is ready to go but there's an issue with a piece of track where neighborhood resistance over parking/trolley tracks is being met. Any new news on that project? How about the Westrum Brewerytown project? Is there actual construction going on up there? (need to find time to get my lazy butt up there on a bike ride to check it out for myself....) Appreciate any gossip, thanks folks! Sara |

I took a look to see if a bill had been sponsored by Nutter changing the designation of the street in question for the 15. I don't see anything - looking at both Nutter and Streets Committee.
Anyone know anything.

The most recent information I have relevant to the Route 15 trolley is this, from the Girard Avenue Coalition, Oct. 6:
"Last minute reminder, as Wendy Green of SEPTA announced at the last Girard Coalition meeting, SEPTA will be holding a public meeting Tonight at 6:00 PM at the Callowhill Depot, located at 352 N. 59th Street at the intersection of 59th and Callowhill Streets. The meeting was arranged with neighbors who live near the Callowhill depot and have raised concerns around the impact of the Route 15 trolley in their community." I don't know what came of this meeting, but am inclined to think it's positive that it was held at all. I will repeat my earlier warnings: At this point I see no reason to assume the trolleys will EVER run if concerned citizens all along the Route 15 corridor dont' write Faye Moore at SEPTA and their local council reps to get this thing moving. Do your part if you haven't already!! |

Re: Westrum
I had heard some time ago that groundbreaking was to begin soon. Last time I looked about 3 weeks ago, I didn't see much, but I haven't been up there real recently. |
