Default Masterman parking lot?

Looks like they are getting ready to film something there. Anyone know what it is?

That would be M. Night Shamalan'sThe Happening, shooting in the region over the next nine weeks.

Keep hoping. I don't have a good vibe about this one. I could be wrong.

But I doubt they'll be in the parking lot for that long. Hopefully.

Well, it's about this big natural, cataclysmic disaster; Some sort of toxic death-cloud blows in on the wind and causes people to do unnatural things. So it's about beer . No, the cloud makes people kill themselves and other horrendous things. Mark Wahlberg, Zooey Deschanel, and John Leguizamo star. Wahlberg plays a science teacher, and his classroom is in Masterman.

You should get your parking space back sometime next week.

Here's a horror story for you:

Sunday night, I park my car on Brandywine right behind Masterman (between 17th and the lot entrance). Sometime on Monday, they put up No Parking signs for the rest of the week. I walk to/from work, so I don't go to my car every day.

Tuesday morning, I see this topic and figure I should check on my car before heading out to a concert that night. Go figure, my car's been moved. I call the 9th District and the lady says to call PPA since my car is not on their lists. PPA is closed for the day, but when I call them back first thing Wednesday morning, they tell me they don't have it. So I call 9th District back again and ask for a supervisor--surely somebody knows where my car was moved to. Given that they gave us less than 24 hours notice to move, this is ridiculous.

The sergeant on duty tells me that the tow truck company has the list of where the cars were moved to, and is able to find out that my car was moved to the 600 block of N. 13th (btwn. Brandywine and Ridge Ave.). Imagine my surprise when I walk down there and find that my car's not there--it's apparently been stolen. I walked around for the better part of 2-3 hours and covered from Wallace to Buttonwood and Broad to 10th, just in case the tow driver wrote down the location wrong. No car.

Just ridiculous--if they had given me the right info on Tuesday night, I might have been able to prevent my car being stolen from having to spend the night on a block with an empty school parking lot on one side and abandoned buildings on the other.

Almost exact same thing happened to me a few years ago when they were filming an episode of Hack. They moved my car, I called the cops because I thought it was stolen. They told me that it was moved to the SW corner of 10th and Lombard. Went there to get it...no car. Just a "No Stopping Any Time" sign. My car wasn't stolen, it was impounded, because they moved it from my legal parking spot to that spot, then PPA came along and impounded it.

That's when I sold my car and joined PCS. Well, after fighting the ticket and impound fees and losing because I couldn't "prove" it.
