I love it. Don't need a car during the week, when I do, grab one from there. No problems getting a car. Used to be tough last minute on weekends a couple years ago on occasion, but they've greatly expanded the fleet. I do also have a motorcycle so that helps as well as I use that for most trips out of town. Will also rent a car occassionally when needed for the weekend. But overall, much less stress, and much cheaper.
You don't need to keep your insurance. They cover you for $1million in liability, and if you ever do buy a car again, you won't have to go on assigned risk insurance. By virtue of being a PCS member, it's the same as having insurance so there won't have been a gap in coverage.
Search the board, tons of posts about people's opinions on PCS and FlexCar, a similar (yet less prolific and more pricey) option.
Bottom line, I feel like I have MORE freedom not having to worry about car payments, insurance payments, maintenance, washing, parking, thieves, vandals, etc...
They just dropped the prices too. If you take the free membership, it's $5/hour weekdays, $7 weekends. Or if you pay $15/month, it's $2 cheaper for either.
If you private message me your email address, I can send you a referral and we'll split a $50 credit if you sign up and use it.
