Default Spring Garden St Repaving

Ok - they tore it up, now when are they going to fix it? It has been torn apart for what seems like weeks. Some of those man hole covers that stick out are killers to the bottoms of cars... Anybody know when it will be resurfaced?

I've been wondering the exact same thing. 20th and 22nd (below spring garden I think) are also torn up. Makes my bike ride home from work a little less comfortable, albeit more adventurous.

They tore up 25th St too. The first set of No Parking signs had an end date of 7/31, that's when they tore off the blacktop. The second set read 8/3 - 8/6, no work was done during those days. The most recent set reads 8/7 - 8/11. No work was going on today.

I wouldn't expect any of these streets to be done before Friday at the earliest.

I remember when they took almost a year to pave 2nd Street down in NL...that was awesome.

Same thing on 15th street. It took them over three weeks to repave 76 so at that rate we may have to wait until Fall before they start on SG. I'm just hoping it will be resurfaced before it completely destroys my tires...

Yup. And here's the thing: THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE STREET TO BEGIN WITH.

I sent a message to "What's buggin you?" dept at Fox 29:

Feel free to do the same. Maybe if enough folks write in, they'll blow the lid off this thing... LOL!

I just can't understand why some (perfectly good) streets get repaved over and over, when there are others in CC that look like they were carpet bombed... and they never get touched by a repair crew.

It Really Grinds My Gears!™

Exactly. There was NOTHING wrong with Spring Garden St to begin with.

AND they are re-doing a section of 20th St(between Callowhill and
Spring Garden) that was done *LAST YEAR*.

It's been about 10 years since Spring Garden was resurfaced. BUT back
then they did the milling and re-paving back-to-back... no delays
between the two.

Off thread. But what is going on on Spruce St in CC? It's needed
re-paving for YEARS and nothing happens.

As far as driving on SG while it's in its current condition: I avoid it
although I live on Spring Garden.

The new no parking sign (8/7 - 8/11) is supposed to go into effect at 6PM. Let's see if they start working tonight.

They're also filming that movie at Masterman this week, so depending where you saw the sign, it could be that as well.

Parking is awesome this week.
