Default L'Oca closed 8/19 reopening 9/7

L'Oca will be closed on Sun Aug 19th reopening Fri Sept 7th.

Also, we are not seating patrons with dogs at the tables. You are welcome to tie your dog up to one of the trees. We have decided that this is in the best interest of our diners who are not fond of canines.

I read all of your comments and appreciate your input.

I have been called a liar, a horses ass and most recently that I bribed a magazine for Best of Philly. This from people who do not even know me.
The only correspondence we received from Philly mag was a letter notifying us that we had won. In my previous business I had also won best of Philly and have never advertised in that magazine nor ever will. BTW Vetri won for best new restaurant.
Maybe we just have good pasta.

So I will continue to read but not respond.

Enjoy the rest of your summer.
Jack

That's for the note.

BTW, I'm assuming you meant closing Aug 19, and reopening Sep 7.

or ...his post was very Star Trek.

I have to say, the concept of people bringing dogs to restaurants is ridiculous. I'd rather that they smoked.

Last night, someone had a cat in Trader Joe's. Now please tell me why that is necessary.

Was it a seeing-eye cat?

Yeah, no bringing animals to a food place. Just lacking in class.

I don't have a problem with it in places like Standard Tap, where dogs are allowed in the bar, but not the dining room(s). If someone doesn't like dogs, they can just sit someplace else in the restaurant.

I like dogs, but the last thing I want to do is sit down to eat and have someones drooling pooch staring at me the whole time.

the girl was carrying the cat. If it was a seeing eye cat...then it must have been whispering directions to the person.

Bringing your pets to restaurants .......inside or outside.....is kinda third world. I went to a restaurant in Malaysia that had chickens and dogs walking around in it....and I got the "runs" for the rest of the trip. I think that it is a good idea to leave the pets at home. It is a kind of desperate showing off that disrespects the other diners. (case in point: the dog at the last PB Happy Hour that was barking at Mexican Grill non-stop....cute for some...I wanted to throw a fork at it)

On a related note: bringing your dog to a Chinese restaurant is really wrong. It is like bringing your pet fish to a seafood restaurant. Just cruel.

Agreed - same thing goes for kids. Leave the kids home.

Enjoy your time off, Jack! I love L'Oca and am thrilled it won BOP. Although, that may now mean that that wait will be long and all the suburban folk will now be onto our neighborhood's secret gem! Damn! Either way...great job! Keep up the good work!
