maybe if we had "super urgent emergency" in the title, or something else to that effect, it would have done the trick. Seems to have worked for the foie gras thread.

Wow. I was seriously expecting to get a lot of flack for posting my message, but it's been a pleasant, yet unfortunate, surprise to find that we were not the only ones to have a subpar experience there.

Yes, it is quite sad that the owners seem uninterested in this blog now that it is not serving their needs. Perhaps if this thread were printed out and stuck in the London's mail slot it could be called to their attention...

Also, a friend of mine who had a really, really bad experience with an event at the London suggested that I find out how to post a review to Zagat. He said it may be somewhere on their website, but I haven't looked yet. Anyone know more?

It would also be nice to post positive Zagat reviews for places like Aspen, Figs, the 'Brandt, etc.

I've never been crazy about Jack's, London or Rembrandt's. It's always the service, the inconsistent food or being overpriced for what you get (Jack's is the main offender of this one).

It's a shame that they're the three oldest and biggest restaurants in the area...they seem to have stopped caring since they have a captive audience. I rarely go to any of them anymore.

Well, it is clear that everyone has opinions about London and we are sorry to see that so many are disappointed with us. First, I would like to say that we weren’t ignoring the complaints/blog we hadn’t seen it until one of the servers brought it to our attention.

We were aware of the issues from Sunday and have spent most of the week working out the kinks so that it doesn’t happen again.

Beyond that, I do not think that anyone is interested in excuses, because we are well aware that there aren’t any excuses for bad service or mediocre food. We live and die in this business by every single diner’s impressions and interactions with our staff and our food. All that we can do is assure you that we genuinely do care and are working every day to deliver quality products to the table. Our servers are great people, who on most days really like what they do. We have had some [really] rotten ones too. We are always working on it.

All we hope is that you’ll introduce yourself – get to know us and let us fix things when we screw up. I promise that we will always try to fix our mistakes.

I've never been there before but based on all of these great reviews maybe I'll give it a try.

Oh wait... this is the place that serves foie gras? Nevermind.

We hear this one often, and would love to be able to extend discount to outside, but we really can't afford it. Happy Hour was created to attract people to the bar at a slow time of day. The outside seating area has 70 seats and is just too large - we would end up losing money [that we don't have].

How about this? $5 off the bill if it is greater than $20 - for Phillybloggers who come in and say hello [of course you'll have to give your name. . .]??? Would that be something you'd be interested in?
