Question new moms in the area?

Is there any new moms in the area that wants to meet up and get together. We just moved to the fairmount area and I just gave birth to a baby girl 2 weeks ago. I would love to meet new moms and get to know our new neighborhood and make some new friends.

If you have been checking your post to see if anyone will respond, be patient. I know there is a Parents' Group website in Fairmount that should be very helpful to you. I, as a mother of a twenty-four year old, am only aware of it but I am sure someone will notify you soon. Good luck! Fairmount is a great place to be a Mom!

Congrats on your new baby! I have an 8-week old. Definitely get out walking, you'll see so many moms with young babies in strollers or Bjorns - this area is full of kids of all ages. I try to do a walk in the neighborhood/to the Art Museum everyday, send me a message if you'd like to join me sometime.
There's also a Mommy & Me yoga class at Wake Up Yoga (on Parrish and Bucknell or Judson).

Actually the parents group doesn't have a website, as far as I know, but they do have an email list. That's a good way to get to know other parents in Fairmount. tatschreib, if you PM me I can pass on the information for you to get your email on the list.

Congratulations on your baby tatschreib! I too moved into the area not too long ago and would love to make some new friends. My husband and I are expecting our first child this fall and I would love to meet other mom-to-bes or new moms. I'm not sure though how to go send messages to one another...

I'm on the list, but as a subscriber email group it's by invitation. I don't feel comfortable putting the information on the blog...don't want to overwhelm the list moderator. Anyone who is interested can PM me and I'll forward the details to them. The list is part of yahoogroups and open to families with children in the Fairmount / Art Museum area.
