I was out walking at about 8:30 tonight when I saw cops pull up in front of London. A couple of the workers came out and said that the coffee shop had just been robbed. There were police all over the neighborhood on the rest of my walk home.

Default 28th & Parrish -- Man Shot

I just came across this piece in today's Daily News. Does anyone have any additional information?

An unidentified man was found shot once in the face and once in the right side at 3:10 a.m. yesterday on Parrish Street near 28th in the Fairmount section.

He was pronounced dead at 3:13 a.m. Police said no arrests had been made.

Yesterday, police responded to the 3800 block of Parrish Street at 3:13 a.m. and found Anthony Saunders, 39, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Saunders, of 4600 block of Apple Lane in Deptford, had been shot in the face and body, police said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:26 a.m.

This seems a little better researched, and says 3800 parrish, not 28th. The other details are the same. yeesh, they should get that right.

I did hear sirens last night but no gunshots...I usually hear sirens when something happens over on the other side of the river.

If someone knows differently they should post.

Default Daily News -- Mistaken??

I wonder if the Daily News would like to correct the information listed on page 7 of today's paper?? I believed
what I read in the paper. I didn't know we had to research
what "they" write. Thanks for the correct information.

This is like when the rock was thrown at the bus this summer. The initial report was a gunshot and it made all the local news outlets..."SEPTA bus shot at just steps from the Art Museum"...nobody ever corrected it.

This was posted on the parents' group listserve last night:

at ~8PM i was walking my dog down Taylor Street, right at Aspen, when
a young man told me that he had just been robbed at gunpoint. he had
parked his car and was walking down Aspen, past the Veteren's Park,
when he was 'overtaken' by four black young men "in hoodies" who put
a gun to his head, took his cell phone, and a ridiculously small
amount of cash. two guys ran west on aspen, two ran north on 25th.
he was very shaken up.

According to the rest of the post, the police were called, but there's no info about whether they were caught.

That was me
But I thought publishing my own death would have a negative effect on my home value.
