Oh no, he wasn't just brought in for investigation... He was arrested and charged, and spent about 24 hours in custody before walking out the front door of the 9th District after being released on his own recognizance.

I'm asking because one of the other posters seems to assume that he should get jail time on the basis of his eight prior arrests. As a matter of probabilities, the guy likely was guilty and should have served some jail time; but a prior record isn't enough for him to be convicted of theft or anything else.

I just walked past a line of cars with broken windows along Sedgeley. They probably belonged to museum patrons from Jersey, but I wanted to put it out there in case some of you have guests parking there. Shame that a few more visitors will have a bad experience on the edge of our neighborhood...

That is a shame citymaps. When I took my dog out I didn't see smashed windows except one on a jeep - but I saw no glass so I thought maybe the window was just left open. On Friday when there was also some event going on in the area - I noticed a good police presence - a car on the grass by Lincoln memorial and one higher up by the tracks. i took it as an encouraging sign. I think there should be reminder signs posted along Sedgeley warning people not to leave valuables in their cars...joggers/walkers/bladers etc don't seem to realize this - I always see cars along there with enticing objects in plain sight.

Who cares what you buy.
Wake up and smell the coffee. There's no place to put the perps awaiting trial anymore (much less the convicts) and letting non violent offenders walk (and even many of the violent ones) is par for the course. Rendell knows that building prisons costs money but legislative stunts (the gun control fantasy land press soundbites) are free. Street and Johnson have always been in the same court. Johnson's grandson is a felon and Johnson has publicly stated his belief that putting criminals in prison and/or arresting them doesn't work. Great attitude for a police commissioner. ![]() Lynne has tried a little bit of dissent but hardly enough for a DA so woefully underfunded. They're all (street, johnson, rendell, and lynne) in the same corrupt political bed.
