Default Robbery Art Museum

Had I been a member before today, I would have given this heads-up a while back.
My roommate and his girlfriend were robbed at gunpoint right next to Fumo's house in the 2200 block of Green St. on a Saturday night a few weeks back.
I believe it was between 11 p.m. and midnight and the guy (approx. 25 yrs old BM wearing a Terrell Owens jersey) approached them from 23rd Street - picture someone walking down 23rd from the London and making a left onto Green.
He robbed them both and took off running down 23rd toward Pennsylvania Ave.
Detectives got in touch a few days later to say they had arrested a guy who fit the description and were hoping to have my roommate come in to make a positive ID. Unfortunately, he was out of state.
Not sure where it all stands now but people should stay on their toes.

Keiko:

North of Poplar St. you're in the 23rd District, as I guess you know. We've been getting these crime reports from the 9th District community relations officer. I know you've been unsuccessful so far getting in touch with the equivalent person in the 23rd, but that's really what you'd need to do for crime reports relevant to Brewerytown.

Any chance the Brewerytown CDC can help facilitate better communication between residents & the 23rd?

There was a report in the Daily News last week about another rape. It said a woman was forced into an abandoned building near 26th and Poplar (possibly that crumbling Gravely Dump??). Did anyone else read/hear about this?

No I didn't. Do you have a link to the article? Just curious cuz it's at the end of my block.

From that article:

"About 1:30 a.m. on Sept. 1, a man, approximately 27 to 30 years old, raped a 32-year-old woman at gunpoint in an abandoned building on Poplar Street near 27th in Fairmount.

He also stole the victim's cell phone and $85 in cash, police said. The suspect was described as black, between 6 feet and 6 feet 2 inches tall, about 215 pounds with a medium to large build. He is bald with a beard and mustache."

This would have been 7 days and 2-3 blocks from the rape on Ogden Street, in which the suspect was described this way:
"black male, age 20-30, 6 feet, light complexion, mustache"

Same guy? Perhaps. (Though you figure the first perp would have been described as bald if he were, since that's a pretty salient feature.)

This bears watching. Not good.

No mention of "light complexion", no mention of "beard", no mention of "bald".

Could be the same guy, but certainly a lot of room for it not to have been.
