Default The Design and Graphics on Our Site!

What do you guys think of the design of our logo and Web site? What criticism can you share? What would you change if you could?

Speaking as a graphic desing/digital imager, the logo is a little weak. And the site is graphically sparse.

But speaking from the standpoint of your average, half-retarded, web-browser, things are very focused, and the site is very simple to figure out and navigate.

I'd stick with the layout you've got and MAYBE add some more interesting graphics, rethinking your logo.

I agree with above. The graphic is a little weak. But then again, before it was mentioned I didn't really give it half a thought.

As for the site, it's a simple and clean interface which is very nice. I don't normally post to blogs, but this site is easy enough that I couldn't resist. You guys did a great job putting this site together.

the logo has some potential. Its you guys that make this site realize its true potential ::aww shucks::

Some of my favorite client comments when designing a logo are as follows...

"I want it catchy...have you ever seen the Nike logo (thinking to myself at this point: no not familar with that one), yeah like that"

A rather prominent, local healthcare company: "I would like a lightning bolt through the logo. My reply "but your a **** manufacturer, I am not seeing the correlation..." Client reply: "Lightning is hip and appeals to people..." My reply: "You do understand that your demographic is middle-aged women?"

And my favorite, no matter what the client "Make it in flash with alot of movement..."

I see some broken images in the main navigation for the phillyblog.com homepage in Mozilla Firefox (a slimmed-down version of Netscape/Mozilla). As for the logo, I like it. It's simple and effective. The main Phillyblog site I find to be pretty plain, and the forum is the default phpBB layout, so I can't comment too much. Try something different; experiment with something other than black text on white with blue links on the main site, and try some new styles on the forum (or download some other skins from phpbb.com). Here are a few sites I use for color/layout insipration:
