Nope. As he said in his interview with Keith Olbermann, we've gone backwards. I'm going to miss him. Who are our social comedians now? I'm having trouble coming up with many. I enjoy Will Durst for politics, Mencia, Rock, et. al, for racial issues, but I'm stumped.

RIP George. I've laughed so hard, and been made to think. Who is going to write the next "Brain Droppings" or "When will Jesus Bring the Pork Chops?"

Carlin was my kind of liberal. He was half libertarian, half voluptuary.

I also loved him for hating enviromentalists.

See his take on people trying to save the Earth. He said:

Everyone is trying to save the Earth. I got news for all of them. The Earth is not going anywhere; we are! Pack your sheet folks, we're going away.

In that same routine he castigated eco-nuts for hating plastic. Carlin said that it was possible that the Earth wanted plastic, could not make it, made us, and we made plastic.

He said that was the answer to the oldest question we know: WHY ARE WE HERE?

Plastic!

P-R-I-C-K is one of two or three words that Carlin explained could, um, swing either way ... hence "you can p-r-i-c-k your finger, but you can't finger your p-r-i-c-k." The other one I remember is in the monologue is balls.

ah, so the whole Schwety Balls gig on SNL wasn't all that original, then.

Here's one of my favorite George Carlin routines:

The Ten Commandments

It's an hilarious bit from Carlin, but also a sad commentary on the perception many people have about organized religion...

What Carlin may not have realized is that Jesus basically boiled the whole list down to the Golden Rule- which is basically Love God and Love your Neighbor as Yourself...

May the great "invisible man" I pray to bless you, George...

I once saw that cokehead Carlin ranting the US government blew up the twin towers on 9/11. There's nothing intelligent or ingenius about him. He was a bum in life, and he's a bum in death.
