I cannot be the only local Philadelphian who is not only going to see DEVO, but is also stupidly excited that they're playing in town for the first time in 20 years! I've seen them twice in the past few years: once in NYC (Central Park 2004), and once in Atlantic City (House of Blues 2005), but for the Spudboys to play my hometown is something really special.

What say you, Philadelphians? Who will I see in Energy Domes and radiation suits on the 28th?

I'll be there, but only because I wouldn't miss The Hold Steady.

I'm very intrigued, and would've been all over this as recently as 10 years ago..but surely the spudboys are a bit over the hill & their shtick has worn a little bit in the 28 years or so since they first burst forth?

Their shtick is probably even more relevant today than ever before. De-evolution is real, spud.

The Motherbaughs have done a lot of great work over the last 20 years. As a live band, they're tight. They weren't exactly "with it" 25 years ago, you know? I'd even say they're pretty timeless.

I'm even more excited to see the Butthole Surfers the night before even if they're down one member. The SoR kids with the Buttholes is gonna rule. I saw Gibby play with them at Asbury Lanes a few months back. It was killer. And my buddies, the sound of urchin, are opening.

I hope my brain and liver can handle that weekend. It's gonna be brutal.

Preach it, spud! I've no real interest in any of the other bands, and I'm only going to the DEVO day, but anyone who thinks that DEVO is dated or no longer relevant is a fool!

My son is in the School of Rock Hall of Fame. Alas, he is out of the country and cannot attend. Can't believe there are like 40 Paul Green School of Rock franchises around the country. Also can't believe that Paul is still claiming to be 34 years old.
