thought about it today and realized that rap is the new hard core (what i grew up with...poison idea, DK, exploited ect)
vaste air, aesope rock... canibal ox and EL-P are especially politically charged.

I like Joan Baez, and I'm not exactly one of your kumbaya types. But my mom was kind of a hippie, so I grew up hearing Baez all the time.

Ha! yeah it was '93, in the dirt ruins of JFK. I was nearly crushed/trampled when Alice in Chains came on. That was a good one though, Tool, Rage, Dinosaur Jr., etc.

I think with the upcoming election there's going to be a swell of political music coming out. I've got my hunches on who's going to win, and I think there's going to be a little bit of a musical movement in relation to it.
