Default What are you reading these days?

What is everyone reading lately (aside from PhillyBlog)?

I'm about to make a trip to the Library next week for some more books...I could really use some book suggestions. Any style is welcome; classics, cerebral, funny, chick books, etc. Just looking for good storytelling.

I'm currently reading the Shining. Seen the movie a million times and am just getting around to reading the book (very scary!). I actually went to the library to take out Factotum by Bukowski but it wasn't there so I ended up with the Shining.

If this helps...Books/Authors I like (in no particular order):

Edith Wharton
Ayn Rand
Stephen King (mostly older stuff, dark tower series, etc)
Fiction based on History books
Poisonwood Bible
The Red Tent
Tom Robbins
Henry James
William Gibson

Thanks in advance!

R

I'm not allowed to read for fun these days, but have you read the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon? Historical novels with time-traveling. They're quite good.

I'm reading Brave New World - Aldous Huxley

I am always up to read or re-read a King Novel. I started reading the Talisman again after I heard they were making it into a movie.

Right now, I'm reading Everything is Illuminated by Jonathan Safran Forer.

I finished The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold, and A Dirty Job by Christopher Moore recently. Also, Born Standing Up, by Steve Martin--they were awesome.

My most favorite book ever was The Pleasure of My Company by Steve Martin. LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!
