Thanks, and if it's not about that then I have no idea what the hell was going on.

I think that's pretty much got to be it. While PTA is a good filmmaker, I don't think it could possibly have any more aspects than what we both caught.

I did like the many implications of DDL's "I'm finished" line.

I hated Punch Drunk Love with a passion. Adam Sandler's acting/character made me wish for him to die.

Had I known that he directed this film I probably wouldn't have seen it. I just went because I like DDL. However, I'd give him another shot after watch this film, which I thought had some interesting and conflicting ideas.

I'm finished:

I wasn't sure if that meant "destroyed" or was he now calmly satisfied like after a meal.

I took it to mean both. I think for the literal thinkers, it could be "hey, I'm all done now." For anyone looking for more symbolism, I think there really are multiple interpretations.

I freaking LOVE DDL. Ever since I saw him in My Left Foot.

I've seen all of his films and have never been disappointed. He doesn't make enough movies in my opinion.

I heard that he's obsessed with shoe making or something like that.

Shoe making? That's pretty interesting. He's a rather enigmatic guy, I think. He always comes across as so intense. He really can play a total bastard (like Plainview, and Bill The Butcher), yet seems like a really nice and humble guy in interviews.

Ooh, did you see that movie he did a few years back with that kid - Camilla Belle? The Ballad of Jack and Rose, or something like that?

That was good.

Of course I missed that one, what was it about?

Bad Guys:

He's good because his bad guys seem to be laughing about something. This one and the butcher also had philosophies of their own which they believed it, which is a lot different than most negative characters in film.

It was about a widower and his daughter, they lived on this island. He started dating this woman who came to live with them (it might have been Catherine Keener) and brought her son, (who coincidentally enough may have been Paul Dano).

Kinda artsy-fartsy, but very good.
