Default Keswick Theatre

I some how, just got snookered into seeing this blues band called Indigenous March 25th at the Keswick Theatre. Now I have seen shows all over this area. hell, alot of the places I'd see shows aren't even around anymore (Revival, JC Dobbs. the Empire, the Cabaret, etc...) But I've never even been to the Keswick. Has anyone ever seen a show here? If I can recall, this is where all the oldhead guys like Eddie Money & Billy Squire play. If someone out there has been to any shows there tell me a little about the joint. Whats the joint like? do they have a bar? Would someone notice if I sparked up a fatty? Whats parking like? etc... Thanks

I've been there for one show and I enjoyed myself.

I had taken the train into town and walked. Let me warn you that if you had ideas of doing that, it's a pretty long walk.

The staff there was very friendly, especially when it came to my dumb questions about what time the train stops running.

The venue itself was pretty nice. I don't recall thinking anything bad about the seats or my sight-lines to the stage.

As for your specific questions, I don't know much about the parking situation since, like I said, I took the train. I'm pretty sure I remember them selling beer, but don't quote me on it. There's a couple restaurants very nearby, so you can always enjoy that type of refreshment pre- or post-show if they don't. Lastly, I'll say someone will notice if you try lighting up, but I don't smoke, so I'm not much of an authority on the topic.

Enjoy the show!

Yup, it's in Glenside. I took a couple trains to get there.

I realized I forgot to mention the bar, so I edited the first post to include it.

Eh... from what I've heard they're not bad. They sound like a bit of stevie ray vaughan and Hendrix, which i'm a big fan of. I'm just a tad leary, since I'm not familiar with alot of their music.

I like them a great deal. They have an intersting background, which I think offers a unique take on blues-rock. I agree with your comparisons though. I have yet to see them live though so...

What exactly is their background. With a name like indiginous, I assume they're of Native American decent. Which I could understand. i'm suprised there aren't more Blues bands comprised of Native Americans. I actually just downloaded their version of Red House, and I was shocked at how well they did it. I'm always shocked when a band can do Hendrix justice or even do one of his songs better then hendrix did (I can only think of two instances when this happened, Stevie ray Vaughan "voodoo chile"(live version), and Tuck and Patti "Little Wing"

They are American Indian. I will have to go back and check to see what tribe they are from. Their parents were musicians as well and taught them all to play.
