There is a new talk station coming to Philadelphia. It sounds like it's going to be similar to 1210 AM, with the bulk of its programming being syndicated conservative hosts.
When I first heard buzz about this a little while back I had hopes that it would be all local, with a mix of liberal, conservative, and maverick hosts, like WWDB used to be.
This piece appeared in the Inquirer a few days ago. Since then it's been announced that former Secretary of Education Bill Bennett will be the morning host.

Talk about talk
There's been chatter for months that Philly will be getting a new talk station.
It's set to happen April 5 - and the station isn't the long-awaited local outlet of the liberal Air America radio network backed by former AOL execMark Walsh.
What is now religious station WZZD-AM (990) will air conservative news and call-in talk.
As WNTP - for News Talk Philadelphia - the station will mostly pick up syndicated talkers including Laura Ingraham, Michael Savage, Hugh Hewitt, Dennis Prager, Michael Medved and Mike Gallagher. Station owner Salem Communications also has religious station WFIL-AM (560), which airs Medved's show.
Still a mystery is the identity of the WNTP syndicated morning host. General manager Russ Whitnah, who plans an announcement today, identified him only as a "headliner-/newsmaker-type of commentator who has been at the crossroads of culture for many years."
As for Air America, known as Central Air when it was announced in December, though it's signed Al Franken as a host, it has yet to announce its network of liberal-talk stations.
