this building is a relatively new conversion. If you like Chinatown (and I think its pretty cool) then this is a good block to live on.

I think the bus terminal is right behind this building. Anyone heard of issues with that?

It is smack dab next to the bus terminal. If you are a light sleeper, I'd look elsewhere.

I went to school there. At the time, Hussian School of Art was located in that building.

Oh, the location is great if you love Chinese food (or any kind of food for that matter) and it's a short walk to the historic district.

Enjoy.

Our office used to be at 10th and Filbert and I had mixed feelings about it. if you love Chinatown you'll probably feel better about it than I did. It can be a very busy part of the city, especially if a convention is in the area. Finding on-street parking can be really rough if you need to drop something off. It also has a very unique smell at times.
But you'll be right by the Market and the Troc and in a central area to everything else.

I was all set to be a renter there until the opening was delayed beyond my latest move-in date. The units are gorgeous (asian cherry hardwood floors, excellent kitchens with stainless steel appliances, etc.

The owners are great guys.

The only thing that would bother me is that the remainder of the building is still under construction (and there's construction in the bus terminal entrance now (on the west side of the building). I believe the top couple of floors are done. You might want to inquire about working hours (and check the permit for that, they're obligated to only work for the hours the permit allows). Other than that it's a great building.

And the location is really quite convenient to Reading Terminal, Market East, Old City, etc.

My husband and I also considered moving in there. We're out in New Mexico, and we couldn't come to look at it, so we sent a friend to check it out and take pictures. What finally stopped us from signing the lease was that we couldn't get a straight answer on whether the apartment we were considering had a sleeping loft or not. Website said it did, friend and pictures said it didn't, the leasing agent hadn't actually been in it (although he was very nice) and got mixed answers from those who had. Weird. But they are so gorgeous--the colors, the stainless-steel appliances and wood cabinets, the windows.

Well I just got off the phone with the guy that is assisting me in getting a place in this building....its just so hard to decide when I havent seen the inside of this building...I am hearing great things...and the guy Rick is VERY VERY nice... helping me out in all ways...down to describing things in the actual space... I like that they are brand new conversions...I dont mind the on-going construction-since its underneath the floors that are already done... I am putting down deposit on a unit on the 8th(top) floor facing the East... is this a good view?? He said something about the bridge and whatnot in the view... so if any of of you have been INSIDE a 1 bedroom unit...can you tell me how much space there is...he said it was approx 750 sq ft... which isnt bad...but I want to personal opinions...I think I am going to go for this!!

Yes, east can see the bridge. I don't recall that view specifically since I was more interested in facing City Hall, but I think it was pretty good.

There are several types of 1 bed units. I think the one you're talking about has a bedroom right as you walk in, with the bath, kitchen, then living area in front of that out to the windows. It's a really nice layout, although you won't get any light in the bedroom. The storage area above the bedroom is massive.

The living area isn't overly large, but you should be able to put a moderate size sofa + chair across the room without obstructing flow too much.

If you need more info let me know.

well actually its a different layout...it has a VERY odd shape to it...a lot of juts it seems in the walls...it has the "sleeping" loft--or they called it elevated or whatever... so its not a REAL bedrooms...its out in the open but like 5ft walls around it... he says its his best one...so yeah, I prefer the City Hall view... he has some still available...but they do NOT have as many windows...only 2 windows...so I was like...nah....but I am deciding...between 3 different ones... the one I described above...the 2 bedroom with hardly any windows, and one with a balcony with an actual bedroom...
