Default Bike Stolen - White Gazelle Racerback (Broad and South Streets)

My fiance and I live at Broad and South (between Govinda's and Society Hill Pizzeria) and we've never had a problem locking up our bikes in front of our apartment.

Last night (Tuesday 8/6) between 12:30am and 8am, his pearl white, brand-new men's 21 speed Gazelle Racerback was stolen.

Please, if you see it or if you have any information please let me know... we are willing to offer compensation.

Thanks

I don't have an actual photo, but he bought it from this company, and this is a very similar bike (in Pearl White)

Gazelle Ridgeback

Not to sound unsympathetic and you've probably already realized this in light of recent happenings, but outside your apt building is not the safest spot to lock up a brand new bike; it becomes a pretty attractive target to thieves. If you have the space in your apartment (a hallway where it won't be too much of a hinderance, or even an empty wall where you can put up a wall rack), I'd be putting my bike there.

Also, you might want to post this in the QV/BV/Hawthorne forum, as that's really where this went down and you might have better luck there. I'll keep my eye out for it in the area.

You didn't happen to register the bike did you?

And what kind of lock was on the bike? B/c if you had a heavy-duty u-lock on it and the thief cut the lock, that's worrisome.

It did? 1400 block of South St.

Any nice bike is going to be at risk if left outside. No lock stops a determined thief.

Well, it's on the edge, right? Doesn't Hawthorne go to broad & south?

edit: o wait - on the other side of Broad. Well that's swcc, then, but that's not really the point here I guess.
