The problem in my part of Old City isn't that bad but we will go days without mail being delivered to our building and there has been a lot of lost mail too. This all start over a year ago when they transfered the mail carrier that was here for 15 years and turned it into a training route.

Heck it's been 30 years and days go by when none of the 6 residents receive any mail. We've been a training route for 30 years! They never - never leave a slip for packages or certified mail - never!
But then we're in 19130 not your favored 19103 or 4 or 5 or 6... USPS stinks to high heaven. It's a joke. |

We have had lots of problems, too. Letters, very large packages, etc....all lost. It's incredibly irritating! When I call, they just say "there's nothing we can do" and don't even apologize. There must be a HUGE warehouse somewhere in Philly full of undelivered mail. I'm not so sure it's the carrier's fault (though we do sometimes go two or three days without mail delivery) that all these things get lost. There must be a clunk in the distribution system somewhere in Philly. And FORGET vacation hold -- that's a sure recipe for disaster.
At any rate, it's irritating as heck and makes me not want to use USPS. Never in my whole life have I had a mail problem, anywhere in the country, until moving here... |
