Default Philadelphia Postal Service

I've been living downtown for over two years now and 90% of the time I will not receive mail unless its sent UPS or FedEx. Is anyone else having similar problems???

You're only receiving 10% of your mail?

Really? It's UPS that I don't trust.

The problem in my part of Old City isn't that bad but we will go days without mail being delivered to our building and there has been a lot of lost mail too. This all start over a year ago when they transfered the mail carrier that was here for 15 years and turned it into a training route.

Heck it's been 30 years and days go by when none of the 6 residents receive any mail. We've been a training route for 30 years! They never - never leave a slip for packages or certified mail - never!

But then we're in 19130 not your favored 19103 or 4 or 5 or 6...

USPS stinks to high heaven. It's a joke.

We have had lots of problems, too. Letters, very large packages, etc....all lost. It's incredibly irritating! When I call, they just say "there's nothing we can do" and don't even apologize. There must be a HUGE warehouse somewhere in Philly full of undelivered mail. I'm not so sure it's the carrier's fault (though we do sometimes go two or three days without mail delivery) that all these things get lost. There must be a clunk in the distribution system somewhere in Philly. And FORGET vacation hold -- that's a sure recipe for disaster.

At any rate, it's irritating as heck and makes me not want to use USPS. Never in my whole life have I had a mail problem, anywhere in the country, until moving here...

I been living downtown for 50 yrs in 19148 and NEVER had a problem getting mail. Never lost one package buying on e-bay, all my bills show up. I never heard of a training route??? All new carriers go to their assigned route anywhere in the city or burbs. Each station will get 1 maybe 2 carriers at a time, If lucky, once a year. The USPS has a training academy in south philly on grays ferry ave. and a few other areas. Make sure nobody is stealing it????
