Default free wifi, beer and smoking?

So I'm a smoker..and I need to get out of my house so i can actually get some studying done.
Now I heard McGlinchey's has free wifi, beer and allows smoking!
PERFECT!
I plan on drinking beers until I can't see my laptop anymore and then go home.
But I heard it's kinda divey. And I don't mind that at all, but will I look completely out of place with my freaking books, cigarettes, laptops and my never ending beer?

Thanks in advance!

If you can curb your habit I would suggest National Mechanics in Old City.

And yes McGlinchey's is a dive.

Most places that still have smoking (because there is no food) are divey. I imagine you're not the only one looking for a bar w/ wifi since McGlinchey's is now offering it. I wouldn't worry about it, people generally leave you alone in those types of bars. And i'm sure there will be UArts kids doing the same thing, eventually.

A patron preview. These were taken by a bartender.

Ha that's great! I've seen those before!
But no one has a laptop?
I guess it's worth a shot...and I'm a total divebar girl...so it should be good. Maybe I'll make a friend or two...

i wouldn't worry at all - you'll be fine, and no one will bother you at all.

The beers are dirt cheap too!

That's not hard to do with all the smoke in that place. It used to be so thick, you could cut it with a knife.

Pints of Michelob used to be $1.75...and quarter hot dogs in the back.

Been a while....

I do love the Glintch! I go there more often than I should, so I'll say hello to any women using their laptops!

It's a total dive, but it's like home. Hot dogs are now .75 I believe, but I don't eat them. The wifi does indeed work though as I've noticed some people now using it.

That's great that you can still smoke at McGlinchy's How bout Dirty Frank's? Have they gone back to smoking?
