And to Rpost -- I'm not coming down on cheap or fast food, or corporate food or whatever. Your comment that only an elitist would put down Subway is laughable. I feel sorry for these people becaue they haven't figured out that you can eat much better (for the same price or less) at countless lunch carts, chain restaurants and mom/pops all over the city.

Lay off the socioeconomic criticism and go have a Philly steak and cheese at Quizno's.
Don't even try bullshitting your way out of it. "Ew, who eats at Subway?!?!?! How unsophistocated! I feel so bad for them!"

I've never eaten at Quizno's in my life... literally never. Haven't eaten at a fast food burger joint in 2 or 3 years. But I'm don't have a problem w/ people who do every now and then b/c they need a fast, quick, cheap meal. Subway has grilled chicken on whole wheat that is prepared in about 2 minutes that'll cost about $3 or less. And it's always a clean place. I know that supports your snobby remark regarding people eating at Subway for their "fine meats and cheeses," but I doubt these dirty-ass lunch carts your touting are using DiBruno Bros ingredients.

Find another group of people to direct your sympathies towards. Seriously. "Fine meats and cheeses..." LOL. I guess I should start getting used to the new Philly.

I decided to give the Subway at 22nd and Walnut one more chance today and the OVEN was broke so it was no meatball sandwich for me.

whatever happened to "brown-baggin'" your lunch? does anyone do that anymore?

The last time I got a six inch hoagie from subway, the waxed paper separating the carefully measured slices of meat were still in my sandwich...but I didn't know it until after I bit into it.

Wait a minute-With all of the flavorfully enticing food options in Philadelphia, Philadelphians prefer to eat a paltry combination of four, water, and salt? Yeah-in a city that eats soft pretzels at 12 times the national average, I'm not exactly going to rely your culinary condescension; in fact, its more than a bit laughable.
