I invented a people watching game in Rittenhouse a few years ago. "Kittens or Severed Head" You spot someone walking through the park with a bag or a box and try to guess what's inside. Your choices are: a bunch of fluffy kittens or a severed head. (Remember homicidal maniacs look like everyone else)
Strange game, I know.. but one day, after we'd been playing it for about a year, I saw my sister walking with some guy, and she was really really really upset. I called to her a few times but she was too busy freaking out and didn't notice me until the guy pointed me out. She was on a field visit as part of a new job selling commercial exterminating services to office buildings. The guy was an "extermination technician". She was freaked by the plastic grocery bag he was carrying. He'd emptied the traps from the basement of some building and it was filled with dead rats. He was taking it back to his truck to dispose of them later. The game still stays "kittens or severed heads" though, "kittens or dead rats" is just weird. |

sometimes I sit in the square with a few others on a blanket and have dinner...sometimes I bring my dog to play....and sometimes I sit by myself and chill out after work. you'd be surprised what you see...I saw someone get engaged the other day. nothing is better then doing nothing in rittenhouse square.
