I have had a PNC bank account forever, and always have more than $2K in there, but have never been refunded an ATM fee. I hate PNC, but the only reason I keep my money there is that they have more ATM locations where I frequent than anyone else.

My business account is at Commerce, and I used to be happy with them until they eliminated the express business line. When I have a huge check to deposit for business purposes, I do not appreciate standing on line for 20 minutes.

You have to switch to a special type of account to get the ATM fee refund. You should call them and have them switch you. I have it, and they refund the atm fees very quickly. Sometimes if I see an ATM with a crazy fee I will use it to get a $20 just so I can make PNC pay some money.

You are right! I had to switch from regular checking (which was free, no min balance req.) to "free" checking. Retarded. No difference in the terms of either account except that I get free ATM anywhere. Ridiculous. I bet they are avoiding reimbursing a lot of account holders through this distinction without a difference in their free checking accounts.

I actually got a notice they switched me over to the new account type maybe 6 months ago. I think they were losing a lot of customers. Now I use whatever ATM. No more going to Wawa.
