Acording to the book, the 1st half of marley's life was spent in West Palm Beach and Boca Raton before the family moved to the Lehigh Valley where Grogan was a columnist for the Inquirer. He could have visited NY to find a publisher for the book, written after marley's passing. The story does continue post marley as he talks about writting the book which became a surprise bestseller and changed their lives by making Grogen financially independent. BTW for those who haven't read it......the book is a masterpiece, very moving and yet hystericly funny. No movie could possibly do it justice.

Maysville, Ky. isn't that far from Cincinnati (where I'm moving to Philly from). I worked at a newspaper where we ran a column by Nick Clooney (three times a week) that all the readers just adored--and everyone at the paper was just amazed as to how Nick could tie his dead sister, Rosemary, to everything.

During the last month or so before we went out of business, we got so many letters from readers saying how much they'll miss Nick. Yeah, what about the rest of the paper??

Then there was the time when George and Nick went off to save Dafur singlehandedly...

For what it's worth, I just heard from an "insider" (her local massage therapist) that Emmy Rossum (of whom I admit never having heard before) is due to shoot a new indie film called "Dare" in Philly any day now. Word is it will be filming in/near Rittenhouse.

Looks like there's some buzz about the movie here...

Demi Moore was over at Warminster Hospital for a few days shooting her movie, the hospital closed last fall, so they were using it for the movie, but the medical offices are still open, and a friend of mine in work's wife is a medical assistant and works there a few times a week, and ran into Demi.

She had the time for the few people that were there, and talked with them, and actually is enjoying herself, because the people in Philly aren't really gawking or bothering her.

I would get use to movies being shot in the area, because the filmmakers are getting tax breaks from the State Of Pennsylvania, and 2 studio's are going into the area, one in Norristown in an old Sears Department store shopping center, and I believe the other is going in in Delaware County.

Ever since I got the one shot of her, I promised not to shoot her again, and I haven't. But if I see Ashton, well I didnt promise him anything. Do you think my promise is contractual to him?

Ashton is not off limits... Go for it - do for the people

More than the usual number of hookers walking around center city the last few weeks. White girls with big pocketbooks slung over their shoulders. Hookers, or movie people?

Ashton Kutcher was on Jimmy Kimmel Live tonight. He was there to promote his new movie with Cameron Diaz. During the interview he mentioned Demi was in Philly shooting a movie, the So Cal audience kind of grumbled as in "poor Demi". Then someone from the audience shouted something that was inaudible, Kutcher then said. " I hate Philly." I think Kutcher just repeated what the audience member said , I dont think Kutcher meant that he hated Philly but it wasnt a good sequence for Philadelphia regardless. If they were filming in Boston no doubt there would have been cheers from the audience and Kutcher probably would have raved about it.
