Seriously???

This is a thread about people complaining about FREE STUFF?!?!

Those who would recycle a bottle they would pay for will recycle a bottle they get for free.

the problem with street recycling cans is that 98% of them will have trash in them, including cigarettes butts..

Tho, if you went inside Liberty Place, they have recycling cans...

Also the Art Institute just created an recycling campaign in their buildings with brand new art work on the cans created by students.

Maybe the city should team with an school to make a city wide campaign, I'm sure Nutter would love that...

How did the Earth survive those millions of years without recycling cans?

Since this thread is about plastic, I'll explain.

For millions of years petroleum remained undisturbed in underground reserves. In the last century humans have pumped millions of barrels to the surface. Petroleum is not a healthy ingredient to the human diet. It tastes bad, smells bad and it's bad for you. Plastic is made from petroleum. The amount of plastic we make from petroleum far exceeds the earths ability to reabsorb the petroleum component without the threat of human health hazards. If we burn it, it pollutes the air. If we bury it, it pollutes the soil. But... If we recycle it, we can make new and useful products from the same petroleum over and over again.

Well then, get on your knees and pick up my trash.

Let me guess: It is a MORAL obligation we have to do this, right?

They gave out a ridiculous amount of bottles, but where are we supposed to recycle them?

Is there a recyling recepticle located ANYWHERE in the general area?

I walked up Chestnut, over to Walnut, through Rittenhouse, then back up towards 30th on my way back to work. How many containers did I see? ZERO. Plenty of trash cans, but nothing for recyclables.

Called the Recycling Department at the number listed on the website (http://www.centercityphila.org/report/) to complain.

When I gave my complaint, I was told that I needed Recycling.

I was transferred to somebody who's voicemail was full.

I'm sure we all saw where that was going.

Point is, if there's a major company sponsoring a giveaway of that sort, shouldn't they at least be required to provide some sort of disposal for said products they are handing out?

Need some cheese with that whine?
