I went to Dr. Backiel based on some recommendations on Phillyblog. I must say - the office is clean, the staff is enthusiastic and energetic, and the equipment is all super modern. I must also say that I have never had a dentist set me up with a 7-visit "treatment plan" (each visit costing roughly $125 after insurance does their part) post-cleaning to correct things that the hygenist said would only need possible monitoring in the future.

She is a cosmetic dentist that does "general" dentistry as well. Her office overlooks Love Park. Enough said.

How is Backiel (or another dentist) for the complete wimps among us? For instance, does anyone know if she will put patients under rather than use novacaine? (I am prone to panic attacks when needles hit my gums. Yes, seriously.)
