Yes the falafel nazi is a bit of a tool - but he can be pleasant at times.. but then he talks TOOOOO much - but -

HIS SANDWICHES ARE SOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOODDDDDDDD - the chicken is amazing...

Its way more than your average falafel sandwich -

if you go to Mama's which is good, you will see - its nothing by comparison....

YUM - I want one now!!!!

It would be misleading to call him the falafel nazi. he sells chicken and falafel sandwiches, emphasis on the marinated chicken. He seems to get insulted if you ask for falafel. One girl told him she just wanted a "real falafel sandwich with none of that chicken stuff." imagine, telling a greek guy what's real and not real. anyways, he made sure she had chicken too. the guy is a bit off but he works hard and provides a good product. Ilove the days when there are grapes in the mix, it goes so well with the rest of the sandwich. Sadly, $8 isn't a lot for lunch anymore and his stuff is clearly three steps above most vendors (the crepe guy in UC is pretty good, friendlier, but also slower).
The guy who owns (maybe runs) Ashoka used to work at Minar. Hopefully they'll work out the kinks.

I sat in that pricks line for 15 minutes on Friday and after I get to the front of the line he informs me that he only will give each person one falafel and that I could wait in line again to get the second falafel for my 6 months pregnant wife. I have been going there for years and always ordered at least 2. They are good and he's crazy and I lived with it but he's gone off the deep end. Screw him.

the last time I went to the falafel guy, I found a large shard of glass in my platter. I had actually bitten into it. Luckily I didn't swallow any or cut myself. Kind of freaked me out though.

In his defense, i did finish the platter... albeit carefully. Too good to toss out. I haven't been back though.

Agreed. Incidentally, both his sandwiches and platters cost $8. I usually opt for the platter because you get more bang for the buck. You just have to fill your own pita, or eat it "salad-style".

I think he raised the price on the sandwiches to encourage folks to order platters, instead. The platters seem to take less time to prepare.

On 20th St, just north of Market (across the street from Kinkos). Get there before 12pm or plan on spending most of your lunch break in line.

Has anybody seen the chicken/falafel cart recently? I tried to stop by several times over the past few weeks, and the cart wasn't there. Maybe he's on vacation?

I ended up making a detour to Mama's, which is good, but its not the same.
