That being said, I wouldn't mind seeing Apple move to Bananna Republic's space. Never a fan of their clothes, anyway, but i realize i might be in the minority with that one. i can see em moving to Willow Grove Mall before any thoughts of flagshippification in Phila proper. Good iThings come to those who wait.

I agree. It'd be nice to have an electronics retailer in that spot again, or anything really...its quite an impressive space. And Paul, your avatar? Hilarious. Betch.

It's too bad the one side of that spot is partially obscured by that alley. If it were on two widely used streets, I think it would look very impressive.

If anything Rittenhouse Square would be more their style. But As you can see from the pics, Apple can move anywhere and just make it there own. For example, the one with the Apple Billboard sign, used to be a meat packing warehouse...

I stopped reading much of this thread because it got bogged down in the merits of Apple vs. PC, which is purely subjective. I happen to work in the media business, upgrade ALL of my apple with cheaper ram/hardware that i order from Newegg, just use the machines because they run programs that i need them to run. this is in response to that poster Arlee with that terrible avatar...
anyways, whoever read my original post and enjoys a thriving urban streetscape, understands why Apple is a great benefit to any block. that's it. who gives a sh@t what they sell. my girlfriend was amped for like 2 years when they announced that some store called Sephora was moving into Chestnut street. i could care less about what the hell the store sold or was about, just was excited that apparently it's well known, successful, and draws a lot of foot traffic. if you like Philly, and center city in particular, we should all get behind the placement of an apple store here, cause it just DRAWS! foot traffic = more money = safety = better crap that we all enjoy. that's it! that's what Apple would contribute to, the urban fabric. so, arleee and your terrible avatar, read what i am writing and pipedown. |
