Just kick Banana Republic and get this started already.

I thought the Sydney store was opening in April ? Beijing China is opening this year, a communist country before the birth place of democracy.

I am so confused about all of these Apple store threads. I own an iPod and I use it constantly. I bought it on Target online and download whatever I need. I just don't understand why people have their panties in a ruffle over an actual Apple store. I'm not being nasty, I just want someone to explain. I get all my iPod accessories at other stores like Best Buy or just buy them on line so I don't really see the purpose of a store like this but maybe I'm totally missing something.

The only reason I want an Apple store in the city is I'd like to be able to try out their products in person before I buy them.

Once I know what I want, I'd probably order online.

You can buy an iPod from a vending machine.

ProCare !!!

I'm in NYC with my laptop and need more memory for the video project I'm rendering. I walk into the SoHo store show my ProCare card and in 20 minutes I get "thanks Mr. Penn, installed and ready to go", when I get back to Philly I call Springboard and they didn't have it in stock. I had a bad power supply to one of my 30" monitors and wasted a whole day with Springboard telling me there is nothing wrong with it, the next day I get car share and go to Jersey and within ten minutes I'm out the door with a new one.

Anyone who doesnt understand the draw/allure of an Apple store needs to go to one in a major city. they are ENORMOUS draws. the NYC stores are sights to behold. The Regent Street store is amazing. Even the KOP mall Apple store is always crowded. This year, during the holiday season, the store was filled to capacity and actually had to turn away shoppers or ask them to wait in a queue. When someone left the store, you could go in.

The pedestrian traffic that an Apple store creates is almost unheard of--they are destinations, regardless if you own a mac, an ipod, or even care about Apple in general. people just simply go to these places.

a well done Apple store in Center City will be an enormous boon to the entire area in which it opens.

I've been to the one in NYC and I still don't get why we need an Apple store. As long as you can buy their products somewhere, I don't see why it matters.

I guess you never went to the genius bar then. The genius bar is Apple's center piece in the store that really makes it the reason to have one. The other option to get your computer or iPod fixed is to ship it to Apple, with the store, you can usually get a new iPod or computer part the same day you go in the store.

Then of course you can go in there and play with every single Apple product doesn't hurt either..lol

Not being concerned with their products, I just wandered around the store and left after about ten minutes. Wasn't disappointed, wasn't impressed. Was very indifferent and unaffected. I'm totally willing to concede that that maybe I just don't get it. I'll never drive a car with an Apple on it, I just don't care. If I decide to buy an iPod, I'll get it at Best Buy.
