Well that is because you got a lot of the pieces. Who knows, maybe Christianity was created by the L Ron of that time?

I'd love to fight Scientology with those points, but I rather go after them for the other things that actually DO harm to people...

Ah - I was wondering when someone would "go there". But there are historical documents that concur Christ lived and died.

Can't say the same for Zenu.

Have fun with the spagetti monster....

Cool

I think the Scientologists are also set up in the train station in Manhattan that's connected to the Greyhound terminal -- I forget what they call that station

Personally, I would rather see the Scientologists at our Septa Station than that group of loud black hebrew, wise-men looking guys at 15th st. I think those guys packed up for the winter though?

On another note, someone recently told me that John Travolta was gay back in the 70s ...?

Sorry to disagree with you, but the catholics take the prize for wackiness, not the scientologists. Here's my proof: Bizarre rituals that honor vampirism, cannabalism, imaginary friends (saints), men dressed in gowns, self mutilation,.....I could go on and on.

must disagree - if all those things exist - they are not universal basic tenants.

Besides - men have been wearing gowns since WAY before christ - it happens in many cultures... and subcultures in cultures.

Are we still having a reasonable discussion? Or are we showing our bad sides...

I guess I'm defending the scientologists. It seems the faiths that are accepted by the majority are ok, but the others are not. They're businesses that sell some type of salvation to those who need it.

I never understood how anyone can make an argument that Scientology and/or Mormonism was acceptable because it was no nuttier then any other religon.

The problem with Scientologists is that they do "sell" it; and they sell it at a very high price.
