Maybe we were discriminated against, maybe we were not. Maybe they just have crappy service and they take a while to ask you what you want to drink. Either way, we felt very uncomftorable b/c we could tell alot of people didn't want us in there. I'm not a homophob either, just to clarify.
This is the only "Tommy's" I'm finding in Philadelphia.

Do you mean "Woody's"?

I have never heard of Tommy's, but googled it. There are two restaurants named Tommy's in Philadelphia, neither one is located in the Gayborhood. One is at 1429 Arch St and the other is at 5511 N 5th St. I can't find any info on either of these places. Does any one know if these would be considered "gay" restaurants?

No, it wasn't woody's. I know where that place is at.

Like I said, I may be wrong about the name. I think I was on Juniper street ~ walnut or so.

here is a tidbit about the place...the door was one of those doors that have no windows and has a metal brace that goes over the frame when you lock the door. It almost seems like a warehouse door.

That's why they didn't take your drink order! Silly, you were in the porn book store.

Since when do porno book stores have bars? Actually, this place had two bars. One was in the main room that was an island bar. The other bar (where we sat at) was a wall-bar that also had tables in the room.

The place had windows, just not the door.

I'm thinking you were in Key West from your description, although it's been quite a few years since I've been there.

I also walked in there by accident one day, not knowing it was a gay bar. Lucky for me, I'm gay.

If Wayne6 is for real and not a troll, which I think he is, judging from his perception of others not like him, I can only imagine his views of jews, blacks, latinos and women.

In all my years of living in Center City, I have never seen any gay man act in the manner that Wayne6 describes. Anybody who says he's not homophobic but tries to justify his hatred of gays is a douchebag.

Wayne6, if you are for real, please post a pic, not so we can see how (hee, hee) "attractive" you are, but so that i can pass your pic along to HX magazine and the PGN so that all gays will be able to recognize your face and cross the street when they see you walking our way. We'll make sure not to serve you at a restaurant, ring up your purchases at the store, or assist you if you need medical attention. I mean, we don't want to offend you.

Also, it's important that the ladies say to Wayne6 after he leers at you: "Men seem to be more interested in me when I walk in this area (I am attractive). Look, I don't have a problem with male individuals, but why do so many of them feel that they can leer, lunge and grope at me on the street without any regard for what I personally find acceptable? I'm always getting stared down by other guys that look like they want to take me behind the woodshed, and I've been hit on by other men as well, and I don't know why. Does being a man in Philly mean that you have to be openly and overtly sexual and predatorial toward women on the street?"

And then slap him.
