I'm not excusing the behavior of people who made you uncomfortable, rather pointing out that this type of behavior is typical of some men, gay or straight, especially when gathered in groups. Does that make Center City a "straight playpen," too?
Queen Villager, you have a good point. But the behavior I see from some of our Gays seems more predatorial and suspicious than what you would expect from a group of construction workers "whooping" at a female woman walking by during Lunch. I haven't had gays actually whoop or whistle at me, but some have followed me for blocks and made comments behind my back. One gay stopped on the sidewalk, stared at me, and wouldn't let me pass, so I had to pass him on the street and almost got run over by a bus. I don't see this type of behavior out of normal men, so I don't think Center City is a straight playpen at all.

hmm....compare w/Weblo_Village:

Clearly, we have a huge gay homeless problem in this city-- from beneath, from behind, they'll stop at nothing! Meanwhile,

Moral of the story: every form of transportation in this city is out to get you.... well, that or the groping gay people, i guess.

Look, it's "build your own Onion article!"

Can anyone possibly be taking this yahoo seriously?

I've worked in Center City for just over six months after being transferred from a sucessful insurance company based in Dallas. I didn't realize how bad things were until I started to spend more time walking around the city by myself.

You seemd to have missed the whole point of my post. I don't want people to pay attention to me, I just want to be left alone and not be emotionally or physically assaulted by some guy with leather pants when I walk out of the office. I can't imagine what those streets are like at night, under cover of darkness. Yet the city still decides to honor the homosexuals and erect rainbow street signs all over the place.
