It's not CC, but the absolute best-by-far cakes and pies I've ever had in my life have been from Bredenbeck's on Germantown Ave.

It's not a bakery, but Trader Joe's has delicious apple pies. The Dutch kind with the crumb topping.

Yup, I was going to say Reading Terminal to get anything. Lots of great bakeries from PA Dutch and Amish bakers. You can't go wrong.

Default Manna Pie in the Sky

A little late for this year, but worth a mention. MANNA's Annual Pie in the Sky sale.

Pie in the Sky

Pie in the Sky is the largest of MANNA’s signature fund-raising events. The project’s success relies heavily on the commitment of the entire community - staff and volunteers, local schools and businesses, media and our corporate partners to accomplish its goal of selling and distributing over 12,000 Thanksgiving pies throughout the greater Philadelphia area.

Pie in the Sky Overview - Pie in the Sky offers five different types of gourmet pies; all pies are a generous 10" size, individually shrink-wrapped and packaged in gift-quality boxes. Most of the 12,000 pies sold will be baked by volunteers at bake-a-thons hosted in various Delaware Valley locations.

Pies are distributed on the Tuesday and Wednesday prior to Thanksgiving to select team locations and to 42 participating distribution sites throughout the tri-state area.

The $25 donation received for each pie covers our cost of providing a bountiful holiday dinner for a family of four who are living with a life-threatening illness. Meals are lovingly prepared in the MANNA kitchen and delivered by volunteers on Thanksgiving and Christmas morning.

Pre-ordering has ended. If you did not place a pre-order, pies will be available for retail sale at 30th Street Station on 11/22 from 11 AM to 4 PM.

For more information or to change an order, contact 215-496-2662 ext 138 or pie@mannapa.org

Pie Types
Old-Fashioned Apple Pie – MANNA brings you this time-honored, Amish style pie with a heart of apples and spices baked between delicious, flaky crusts. Perfect served with warm, on its own or a la mode.

Pumpkin Pie – A holiday favorite from MANNA volunteers combining rich, creamy pumpkin custard with the perfect blend of spices.

Southern Pecan Pie - Robert Bennett’s northern rendition of this southern favorite and your favorite as well. Back by popular demand - SOUTHERN PECAN PIE! Baked by MANNA volunteers and packed with loads of pecans and a sweet, gooey filling in a buttery crust.

Sweet Potato Pie - Delilah’s own Southern classic blends fresh yams, pure vanilla, creamy butter, fresh eggs and a touch of cinnamon and nutmeg, baked with love, by MANNA volunteers.

Strike It Rich Pie - A new take on this MANNA holiday tradition from Sweet Lilly’s Heavenly Desserts: caramel and pecans on a rich, creamy cheesecake, drizzled with melted chocolate.
