Question Donate "prom" dress?

Have a formal gown that doesn't look quite right anymore but it's in excellent condition (worn once and very pretty), so I'm looking for a group that donates prom dresses to financially needy girls. I've read about groups like this in NY, but was wondering if they exist here in Center City. Any ideas?

If all else fails, try Goodwill.

You can also consign it at Greene Street at the corner of 7th & South. They put very reasonable prices on their things, so almost anyone can afford to buy a pretty dress.
You can also donate it outright to Philly Aids Thrift (PAT) on the 600 block of Bainbridge Street. They will most definitely find a good home for it.

Thumbs up Fairy Godmothers

Try Fairy Godmothers.
http://www.mypromdress.org/

They have a big sale for high school girls in the spring.
Dresses for $5, and they also have shoes, bags, makeup, jewelry, etc.

I second the Fairy Godmother recommendation. I mailed them a dress earlier this year. Very convenient and for a good cause.

Default Looking to donate bridal gown and/or accessories?

This is a tad off topic, but I found this great organization to donate my wedding gown to:

www.makingmemories.org

They have trunk shows in various locations and use the proceeds to help women living with breast cancer.

I went on the site today to see if they take prom gowns (they don't, but will take bridesmaid & mother of the bride dresses) and learned they had $3 mil. in goods stolen before a show in LA. They could use some help.

Fairy Godmothers sounds like an awesome organization too.

There's a Buffalo Exchange somewhere in CC, not sure where. Pine? Locust? hehe i'm directionally challenged. MacNapier can attest to that!
Buffalo Exchange is a consignment store so you can sell it to them and they resell it to others.

But the donation ideas suggested above are pretty awesome and worth considering.

North side of the 1700 block of Chestnut. Also, rather than consignment, they pay cash up front (or store credit alternately.)
