I have to agree with the person who posted about not expecting quiet when you live in the center of a major city. What you live in Rittenhouse Squares vicinity so nobody else is supposed to make a peep?

Lots of people go to that park daily and want to enjoy it and should be able to wether they make noise or not especially in the freakish warm weather we are having.

By this logic, I declare Chinatown closed. Don't come by--anytime.

Just kidding: you're all very welcome to come by loud, drunk, and stupid to eat fried dumplings at 3am then pee in the alley. It would be weird if you didn't.

Unfortunate. My wife and I walked past the park last night around 6-ish, and heard the bongos. It was such a nice night, and the music sounded nice. It was nice to be able to have this at all, as its just a matter of time before the snow flies.

I could see how this might be a problem at 10pm, but 6:30? Ludicrous. For those that are griping about this being noise, might I suggest you relocate your "Fortress of Solitude" to someplace like Bucks Co? They'd be happy to have you, and we'd be happy to be rid of you.

Just my $0.02.

I am talking about bad behavior.....the kind you wouldn't want going on in the street in front of your house.

I've seen that same group of kids get escorted out of the park a number of times.
Personally, I don't think they're a problem at all, but there might be more to the story than the noise complaint.

I was also there last night around 6:30pm. The music sounded great, and was perfect for a warm breezy night. The folks playing it were a very small rather quiet group.

They probably live in RQ...

Rittenhouse is great.

Sure, sometimes the bums are unsightly and the musicians are hardly musical, but where else would you ever see these types sitting on the same benches with old-money socialites and young professionals?

It's quite the melting pot of a park, and I'd say the majority of residents are cool with it.

(although I guess I wouldn't complain if the city did try to clean it up a little )
