Why is it that if I, the ordinary citizen, want to attend a meeting about the future of our waterfront, I have to
1. Find some way to get to the Union League by 4pm 2. Dress in a fancy suit 3. Pay 35 DOLLARS(!) ??? I'm sorry if I, the ordinary citizen, can't make it to the Union League by 4pm. I'm sorry if I, the ordinary citizen, can't dress in a fancy suit and cough up 35 bucks for some meeting. If they want to involve the public so much, why don't they actually try doing it in a way that the ordinary member of the public can actually be involved in? I am most definetly outraged at this prominent example of classism in modern America. This gives me one more reason to hate the city I love so dearly. For a moment, I thought the CCD was trying to do something progressive for our city. That was until I found out that their idea of the "city" was people who can throw around 35 bucks whenever they feel like it. You can be damn sure you won't be seeing me there tomorrow. |
