Default Center City Forum

A Forum for Center City

This forum was created to provide an organized forum for residents in Center City to discuss issues relevant to their lives, or share resources and contacts.

Since things that happen in Center City can directly affect the rest of the community, those issues can be discussed here as well.

The boundaries of Center City are the Delaware and Schuylkill Rivers, South and Spring Garden.

This is in no way trying to usurp the existing Old City forum. When you look at some of the neighborhoods or areas in Center City:
  • Antique Row
BF Pkwy - I think Center City
    Chinatown
    Market East
    Reading Terminal Market
    Rittenhouse Square

The need for a Center City forum becomes clear. I think that a whole new area of discussion would be opened up, or maybe it would help to focus some of the threads that have occurred elsewhere:

I agree that there should be a Center City forum. There could be topics related to people working in the offices downtown, and other topics related to people living down here.

Either way, there is a wealth of information out there, and a hell of a lot going on - let's get it organized!

Yeah -- these neighborhood forums are a great idea. I started the University City forum, and it finally took off. The whole excitement of this stuff is that it can bring neighbors together in an urban setting where people don't know each other.

I always thought the general forum worked for CC since it's not just a neighborhood.

I did too, honestly, but I'm hearing otherwise from others, so I'll go with it - we always want more involvement, and if this encourages that, so be it.

If the poll is 60/40 in favor of not having one..shouldn't we not have one?

I hadn't voted ... I voted in favor.

I think it's a good thing to have if it encourages further participation. My two cents.

Try it out for a while & see if it works. There are, after all, some topics that involve CC as a whole - parking garages, transit issues, new developments. I think those would belong in a forum like this.

i've got no problem with it - since I generally use the new posts search to find new messages, I often have no idea what forum I'm in (boy, is that a bad sentence but you know what I mean).

On the other hand, I often don't know where I am in real life so I guess that's why it works for me.
