Default loft district: building next to Shoe Factory lofts

Building on the right, near Vine and 12th.

I know there was discussion, but I cant find it. Whats the scoop with this building? Will it be converted?

God, I hope so. I'm sick of walking out of my building every morning and seeing that eye sore.

Interesting enough though, a contractor have been posting their information around the outside of the building so hopefully something will happen soon.

On another note, the building (HEIT Building) on 13th and Wood is going to be converted for delivery for early 2007. Anyone see the floor plans for this?

yup...move into the :Loft District: and whine about the appearance...

sure you guys won't be badgering the city for millions in streetscape upgrades in about 2 years.

but hey? why not waste the money while gorgeous neighborhoods rot in disrepair. We need to appease the deveoplers and their "its a cheap shell lets cash in on the condo boom why we can and leave the city to play clean up"

yeah..I added nothing.

I have the floorplans, they look nice. I wonder how sales are going.

I was at their Zoning Hearing. Apparently they were in front of the ZBA last year with a terrible proposal and have since redesigned the project. It is being developed by HEID?? HEID is really just another name for a partnership with Capanella Construction.....judging by their new architect, Cecil Baker, and their marketing team, Bruce Lang, I will assume HEID is also the developers of the Western Union Building. Capanella is also BUILDING the new condos in OC at 3rd and New (marketed by Stone Hedge??). FWIW, I think Cecil Baker is pretty overrated....but what do I know. Anyway, at the ZBA, their whole case was that they were building ' affordable' lofts for young professionals and students (for the parents to buy for their kids). I don't know....'affordable'....that building needs alot of work and they certainly didn't steal it so the resale numbers should be interesting. Maybe Capanella can build it for cost to bring the units in at a reasonable price. Nonetheless, it looks like a great project by a very reputable builder, in a great building, that will have great views in what to me, is the most undervalued neighborhood in the city. Also, with Bruce Lang doing the marketing, I am sure they will have no problem selling.....

sam: you are talking about HEID. How about building in question?

I hear the current owner is trying to dump it on NY investors...
