No and NIMBY comments, I expect that. It has to be more then that.
Whats wrong with townhouses? That area is primarily townhouses already. I have no problems with towers but row houses (aka townhouses) have a more neighborhood feel. That is, when they are built properly. When they have garages built in, you may never get to meet your neighbor, even if you have a stoop. I grew up in Philly and our parents always sat out and chatted with our neighbors, drank a beer and smoked a cigarette.

Why should it have office space? The Market St. West development plans recommend office buildings along Market street with residential on the side streets.

why woud the plans have residential on those streets? it's no better than commercial and residential towers. why not just let the market decide what to put there? (not thta it's hard, since nobody builds commercial in philly).

Lightbulb Cherry St. project

Hell, as long as it can have some effect on increasing philly's population back to where it was in the good 'ol days. But I think philly's real estate prices have gone through the roof with all these condos. The Cherry St. project is just a symbol of that.

Anyone have any word on how these are selling and when they expect to be occupied? Are they leasing? Selling? A mixture of both?

I'm sure they'll come with a 4 car garage. LSNA wouldn't have it any other way!

Dude: Did someone from Logan Sq. beat you up or something? I've never seen someone hate an actual neighborhood before. You're completely irrational on this subject. Can't you find a more worthy subject to rant about, like City Blue locations or how many badgers are appropriate to put in one's sig? Sheesh.

For the record, Cherry St. West has one-car parking per unit in a lot, and I believe that's to meet a city requirement.

If anyone has a response to my actual question, I'm still interested.

When these hit the MLS, I bookmarked several to check back periodically and see if they were selling. In my random and completely unscientific survey, I've seen zero sales. I'd like to see this place do well - bring a little more street life to that end of the 'hood.

How much are they asking for the various units or did I miss that on the website?

Unless they have dropped the price, they start at about $970 -- simply too high in my opinion...

I also want to see them do well. We just bought very near there.
