Unfortunately you're not going to find an Ian Schrager type hotel in Philly, but thankfully they will be bigger than the Morgan or the Hudson both of which I stayed in in NYC. I think the Loews Hotel comes the closest to something like that, plus if you are on a high enought floor the view is spectacular.

When?

I haven't seen any activity at the former Inn on Locust since it closed. I suspect the owners take in enough from the ground floor tenant--Bump, the decidedly unPhiladelphian "gay luxe lounge" that has really good food and packs 'em in at happy hour--to cover their carrying costs on the building.

At least I hope so.

Edited to add:Oops! There are two ground floor tenants. The other is the PharmaCare specialty pharmacy.
