It is a pretty bad idea to show that ugly building in your advertisements I wonder if this is some kind of rush job or something? Most places have sketches of what the place will look like, with floor plans, etc.

I'd say it's a refreshingly contrarian approach to real estate advertising. %-)

Never mind that the photo needs straightening and they spelled condos as "CONDO'S."

I see Oren Brothers main page is somewhat tacky, but portrays a company with a quirky history, such as their University City offices: "Orens Brothers purchased the building in 2001 and in the following year performed a full-scale renovation converting the building into a multi-use facility. They placed their new offices on the 2nd floor rear portion. The 2nd floor front was developed into a state of the art health club "FIT GYM" which they own and, and the 1st floor currently serves as a salvage depot for new and used furniture and building supply and material."

Maybe one of the web developers who hang out here should pitch the brothers on a site make-over.

I still think this can be one of the best buildings in Philly if done right.

Just took a walk around there. The exterior work, restoring the crumbled portions of the concete wall, seems to be progressing well. I was surprised to see, in one lower stairwell, decorative metal stair rails. Also noticed the vertical columns encased in the concrete (exposed in a number of spots) are steel trusses, rather than I beams.

I was thinking of doing that very thing when I had the time. Their site now is in bad shape.

I was actually looking at that place to consider moving there. They were cheap, but didn't allow pets. I was quite angry about that, but oh, well... *puts up the finger*

Construction workers find skeleton in Center City building

By Thomas J. Gibbons Jr.

INQUIRER STAFF WRITER

Construction workers converting a vacant building into condos in West Center City made a grisly discovery this afternoon at the bottom of a trash-strewn elevator shaft: a pair of coveralls containing the skeletal remains of the lower half of a human body.
