Default Muay Thai Kickboxing

Are there any Muay Thai schools in the Main Line area? There seem to be quite a few in the various MMA schools in the city, but I don't see anything in or near the Main Line.

Thanks Preesi. Not quite as close as I'd hoped, but not too bad, and they've got a lot going on there.

If Andy Carr is still offering classes in Upper Darby at the firehouse on West Chester Pike, then I highly recommend him for kickboxing.

Just about any MMA place will offer muay Thai, so take a peek here:

Also, I would recommend going on here:

There are several local people on there. Ask around.

Anytime. If possible, please update on where you decide to go.

As you noted, there are several solid gyms in the city, too. You could take the R5 to Suburban, jump on the BSL, and you'll be at Philly MMA with Brad Daddis.

You can also check out the forums on Sherdog.com. It is also mostly MMA, but MMA's striking foundation is muay Thai. You might even end up liking grappling too.

Good luck.

I'm actually most interested in BJJ. I'm not in the area yet, but Precision JJ and High Level Fitness/Regis Lebre seem to be the closest to where I'll be.

But I also enjoy striking and wanted to see if there are any good MT schools in the area, especially if I can train the MT for less than the jits.

Another option is Main Line Judo...

There are great looking schools in the city, like Daddis' place and Migliarese's gym, just to name a few, but I'm not going to have the time to trek into the city on a regular basis.

Thanks for the feedback, Bernie. I've heard nothing but stellar comments for Daddis and his school, but yeah, it will be too far on my tight schedule.

I think I've decided on training with Regis Lebre and the other Maxercise folks at their Bryn Mawr location. It's really close to my job and apartment. So as long as everything goes well when I check it out, that's what I'm going to go with and focus on BJJ.
