I have Verizon for phone and internet...I highly recommend Fios for that...Im guessing phone is $100 or less a month, internet is $39 maybe...bundling *may* be able to save you money, but you also get what you pay for and if you choose your phone/tv services wisely you can make out almost the same but get exactly what you want...that was my thing, I wanted HD/lots of channes/HD DVR/ lots of boxes plus movies galore and Dish offers just that...

Well its 1 hour 15 minutes past the 8 am-12 pm window that I was given for the technician to arrive. Waiting for a phone call back. They had better not cancel, I took off from work!!

It is now 4:30. No Tech!!!!
Not getting a good first impression at all.
Update:
At 4:35 I got a phone call to reschedule. So basically I ended up wasting an entire day from work for nothing. They should have at least called me earlier in the day to reschedule. They wanted to see if I could do Monday and I'm like "Uh no." Don't they realize people have to work. So I said it needs to be tomorrow, she then responded that Sunday morning was available. Wish she would've just said Sunday was the next available appointment because that got me even more annoyed. Oh well, that's customer service for you today.

They finally came on Sunday. Took about 7 hours to complete. Lots of cables were run through the house. Working well so far. Now the new headache is trying to cancel Comcast. I got disconnected several times when choosing the option to speak to someone about disconnecting. When I got someone, I was told that she couldn't disconnect me and to call back on the 27th to have the service disconnected. She would put a note in my file saying to deduct the days extra off my bill. I'm not quite falling for that advice.

So here it is almost June and I never received my $200 Best Buy Gift card. So what I did a few days back is threaten to cancel and they did the following. The deducted $100 off my next bill, then I will get $27 off for 6 months and $17 for the 6 months after that. Also if my gift card ever comes, I can keep it. I signed up back in mid-February, so it should have been taken care of by now.

Default Comcast cares?

Not to derail the thread... but I too have had loads of problems with Comcast in the past. I'd love to switch to Fios for tv and internet. But it's not available for me yet.

Comcast does seem to be working towards better service though, somewhat surprisingly.

Anyone else on twitter? Comcast has rep on there. It can be a good way to get your issue resolved immediately without sitting through 4 hours of bad phone hold music

I actually always get good service from Comcast. I've never had to take a day off of work to wait. They always come out at night if I have a problem. A PERSON, in AMERICA, always answers the call after a brief period and is very helpful.

I don't know why Comcast has such a bad rap. I think their service is better in many respects than what I've experienced with companies in a plethora of industries (banks, credit cards, PGW, PECO, electronics, etc).

I guess I'm glad to hear that Verizon isn't the second coming of JC himself, as many make them out to be.
