The General Lafayette Inn on Germantown Pike is a good bar that brews its own beers.

Well, a great place just across the city line is the Spring Mill Cafe &
art gallery-

http://www.springmill.com/spring.htm

It is run by a gracious french emigree from the pacific rim so you get terriffic french food

great espresso, terriffic country pate- plus eclectic dishes like mexican spicy chocolate soup for entree, and great "B’stilla Marocaine".

It's a BYOB, and lunch is pricey but well worth it, dinner is expensive but still worth it.

Just watch out, the espresso is real espresso - drink more than 2 of those tiny coffee cups and you're not sleeping for 12-16 hours.

Hal

Isaac Newton's in Newtown, Pa has a great beer selection and they usually have some Belgiums and German beer on tap. They recently remodeled due to a fire and have expanded the bar. Plenty of good spots in New Hope as well although Havana's is my favorite spot, especially the outdoor bar.

Check out Bowman's Tower and Washington Crossing State Park if you decide to make the trek up to New Hope.

There is a great Chinese restaurant called Abacus, which is located in Lansdale. It's very small, however, so expect to wait or make reservations on the weekend. It's also BYOB.

Tyler State Park in Newtown and the outside bar at Havana's are my top 2 people watching places in Bucks County.
