Officials in Burlington County are investigating a shooting during which a man said his 19-year-old son was wounded in the face by a gunman who barged into their Browns Mills home.
John Nelson was being treated for the wound this morning at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, police said.
Pemberton Township police were called shortly before 11 o'clock last night to the 300 block of West Virginia Road in Browns Mills by Nelson's father, who reported his son had been shot.
Glenn J. Nelson, 55, told police that an unidentified man had entered through a unlocked back door and confronted him, his son John, and a visiting 17-year-old boy at gunpoint, police said.
The gunman shot the 19-year-old in the face and struck elder Nelson in the head with the weapon before runing from the home. The 17-year-old was not injured, police said.
Police have no motive or suspect in the shooting.
