Suggestions? The big box stores want too much, and the local guy I know only does 1500sqft+ and he will not make any exceptions.

Thanks!
I actually found the big box stores to be quite reasonable, at least Home Depot. I had home depot install some flooring for me a little over a year ago, the price was reasonable and the contractor they sent did a great job and gave me his home phone number if I had any problems. Plus if something goes wrong home depot will back up the work.

I got a couple of bids from independent contractors and then went to home depot and found that in one of the cases home depot was actually cheaper!

Thanks for the tip! Perhaps Ill have them come out and measure. I think its $25 or something.

It doesnt seem too hard, but I really do not have time to F around and learn how to do it. Do you still have the contractors info?

Default Slightly Related Question

Hi,

I was wondering how you can identify the kind of hard wood floor one has. These appear to be "tongue and groove," with a hard shiny surface . . . kind of medium dark. I don't "think" it has a high-pressure laminate surface . . . if I'm describing this correctly (Meaning, it is not Formica). Can I just sand all of these sratches down and refinish? :what_is_:

Sorry, I couldn't find the number, I had the flooring installed over a year ago and just kept the home depot receipt. It didn't have the name of the installer on it. Although, along the lines of what I was saying before, if I had a problem with my flooring now I can just call home depot.

Default Hardwood Floor Refinishers? Fishtown

Can anyone reccomend a good company that refinished hardwood floors? They need to be reliable, and not necessarily cheap. I just need one room redone. Thanks!

I finally found John's Hardwood Floors phone#: 215-768-2887.

He was super fast, did a great job, and was REALLY inexpensive!

I just called johns and he hung up on me when I asked him for an estimate for refinishing only 400sq ft.(one/possibly two bedrooms and a hallway). Oh, and he did a "great job" of hanging up on me "super fast"....
